Puppies and kittens come in every 3 to 4 weeks from 6 through 16 weeks, paired with the core vaccine series — DHPP for puppies, FVRCP for kittens. Each visit covers weight, deworming, and a short developmental check.

Before the vaccine series finishes, a clinic lobby is a real exposure risk; at-home removes it. Just as important, the first 16 weeks lock in how a pet feels about vet visits for life, so a calm early experience pays back for years.

Healthy adult dogs and cats get one wellness exam per year. The visit includes a hands-on physical exam, weight and body condition, dental check, parasite review, and whichever boosters (DHPP, rabies, FVRCP, Bordetella, leptospirosis) are due. We follow AAHA Canine and AAFP Feline guidelines.

Around age 5 or 6 we recommend a baseline wellness blood panel, even if your pet looks perfect. It gives us a reference point if something changes later. For cats especially, a baseline kidney and thyroid value at age 5 is one of the strongest screens against the silent decline that hits indoor cats in middle age.

Adult dogs and cats lose annual exams more than any other group, almost always because the family schedule will not bend. We work evenings, weekends, and lunch breaks. The whole appointment runs about 45 to 60 minutes.

At 7 years for most dogs (5 for giant breeds) and 10 for cats, we move to twice-yearly wellness exams because changes develop fast at this age. Senior visits add a blood panel and urinalysis drawn at your kitchen table — kidney (creatinine, SDMA) and thyroid (T4) for cats, plus liver and arthritis markers for dogs, all catching silent decline years before symptoms appear.

Senior dogs with arthritis struggle on clinic floors. Senior cats with hyperthyroidism panic in a carrier. Both groups do measurably better at home, in their own bed. We move slowly and stop if anything is too much.

We arrive in the scheduled window and spend the first 5 minutes letting your pet sniff our kit on their terms. No leashes pulled, no exam tables, no clipboards. We sit on the floor. Most pets relax within 10 minutes.

Short history intake (diet, exercise, behavior), then the full nose-to-tail physical. If diagnostics are appropriate, we draw bloodwork, fecal, or heartworm samples and ship to the same outside labs clinics use.

Last we review findings, administer any vaccines due, write a care plan, and email the same-day summary with weight trend and certificates. Total visit time is 45 to 60 minutes for wellness-only, longer when paired with a vaccination visit.

The mobile house-call fee is $95 and covers the trip plus the full nose-to-tail wellness exam. A second pet at the same address pays only $55 for their wellness exam (no second house-call fee), which makes multi-pet households cheaper than driving the whole crew to a clinic.
